Percorsi con Gusto: our own cooking school in beautiful Umbria
Cooking classes are definitely the core of our family business.
Before opening the restaurant Vino e Cucina, and before launching A Tasteful Journey as a travel company specialized in Food&Wine itineraries, our main focus was our Italian Cooking School Percorsi con Gusto.
Started in 2009 by our mother, Chef Lorena Autuori, it soon became the highlight for international visitors coming to central Italy. Most of them say that the classes at our house have been the highlight of their trip - our professionality, the quality of the ingredients, and the warm, familiar atmosphere that Lorena is able to create around her table.

Lorena is organized, and full off great information about Italian food. We made a pasta dish, a main and a pudding and ate everything we had cooked in Lorena's garden. Classes happen in our home, a 16th Century private residence in the medieval village of San Gemini - included in the permanent list of I Borghi piu' belli d' Italia (the most beautiful Italian villages).
The home is just as you can imagine it, with a large fireplace, wooden ceiling and terracotta floors. We also have a beautiful garden where you can enjoy your meal if you wish :)
Each class will be arranged in advanced based on your desires. You will be contacted directly by Chef Lorena Autuori, who will agree with you the menu of the day. You can chose to learn how to prepare a 3-course meal, a 5-course meal or to focus on a specific topic, such as hand-made pasta or desserts. Here a sample menu with 5 courses:
Sheep cheese pie with truffle
Gnocchi with Umbrian pesto
Stuffed lamb leg
Cauliflower salad with olives and anchovies
Panna cotta with wild berries
Length: 4 hours
Each participates will have its working station and will actively participate in the preparation of every meal!
At the end the preparations, guests are invited to seat at our table for a sit down dinner paired with DOC wines from the area.
You can chose to dine inside or in our beautiful garden.

If you still haven't made any arrangements, we will be happy to help arrange your stay and all the other activities you can do in the area (transfers, visit to wineries, to cheese producers, to olive mills, etc.).
